Charles Ayiekho Sets Target At MYDA FC

Coach Charles Ayiekho has set promotion to UPL as his main target at Fufa Big League side MYDA FC.

The Malaba-based side overcame Ndejje University 3-2 in the league opener thanks to two Penalties from Geoffrey Serunkuma and Orono Ivan’s goal at the King George memorial stadium.

The Tororo based side was relegated to the second tier alongside Kitara and Kyetume last season.

Speaking after the win, Head Coach Charles Ayiekoh said that he’s thrilled with the result having joined the club for only one week.

“What makes me happy is that I just joined this team for only one week and you saw the fitness levels are not all that good,” said the former Maroons coach.

“I am happy that I managed to pick the three points, we all know that there is no bad win.”

After being relegated last season, Ayiekoh has set his sight on guiding MYDA back to Uganda Premier League.

The gaffer added: “My plan for MYDA FC is to go back to the top flight. The administrators have given me a chance to handle each and everything.

“I have powers to do my work and there is no interference, may be because I have just joined but I hope we continue like this but we shall go back to the Premier league.”

This season, format was changed to a single group. Ayiekho said that “we just have to win our games.”

MYDA FC’s next game is on Thursday, November 18 away to Blacks Power at the Aki Bua Memorial stadium.
