Kambale, Vipers Duo Make Final Shortlist for 2021 Best Male Player

FUFA has confirmed the final three for the Airtel FUFA Player of the Year 2021 award.

The awards ceremony will be held on December 4 at Speke Resort Munyonyo under the theme “Celebrating Uganda’s finest football Personalities.’

The list that has been reduced from five is headlined by Express danger-man Eric Kambale who will face off with Vipers duo of Aziz Kayondo and Bobosi Byaruhanga.

The development leaves out Shafic Kagimu (URA FC) and Last season’s top scorer Yunus Sentamu (Vipers).

Kambale has been fronted by pundits as a deserved winner after his exploits last season.

He was integral as Express FC clinched the league title, their seventh in club history and their first since 2012, scoring 15 goals.

He was also part of the Red Eagles team that won the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Bobosi and Aziz on the other hand helped Vipers to Uganda Cup success and were part of Uganda Hippos team that reached the final of the 2021 AFCON U20.

The Women’s final shortlist was released earlier with Daisy Nakaziro (Lady Doves), Fauziah Najjemba (Kampala Queens) and Fazillah Ikwaput (Lady Doves) making the cut.
