Ghana Black Stars have been eliminated from the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stages.

The four-time winners end the campaign bottom of the group with just a point having lost to Morocco and drawn to Gabon.

El Fardou Ben Nabouhane sent Comoros in front before Andre Ayew was shown a straight red card.

Ahmed Mogni doubled the lead but the Black Stars fought back to make it 2-2 through Richmond Yiadom Boakye and Alexander Djiku.

But Comoros completed their stunning win when Mogni tapped home in the 85th minute.

Comoros coach Amir Abdou commented as quoted by CAF website: “We did not back down even after Ghana equalized. We always believed we could achieve a famous victory for our nation. I sent on attacking players in the belief that we could score a third goal and my decision paid off.”

“Now we must wait to see if we are among the best four third-placed teams and play in the second round. We are satisfied with the way we played. We had a plan and stuck to it. We learnt from the mistakes we made in previous games.”
