Uganda Boxing Federation Confirms Bombers Team For African Games

The Uganda Boxing Federation has revealed the National Boxing team, the Bombers, set to represent the country at the upcoming African Games.

A team of seven boxers has been selected to don the national colors and vie for glory in the highly anticipated sporting event.

Departing on the 8th of this month, the Bombers contingent is gearing up for the technical draws slated for the 13th, followed by the commencement of actual bouts on the 14th.

The squad, comprises of experienced and emerging talents but has barely trained in preparations of the continental stage.

Innocent Tumusiime and Innocent Amoko will be representing the country for the very first time.

At the previous African games in 2019 in Rabat, Morocco, Uganda sent right boxers (Six men and two women), and the team won two silver medals and one bronze medal.

Isaac Masembe won Silver in Men’s Featherweight (57kg), David Ssemujju won silver in Men’s Middleweight (75kg) and Hellen Baleke clinched bronze in the Women’s middleweight (75kg).
